Gather together the end of Earth Week - to talk about Data Centers, Farm and Land Issues, Peace and more!
The Wisconsin Network for Peace and Justice is inviting contacts of our 94 member groups to be part of WNPJ's SPRING MEETING - Individual members and allies are welcome to attend.
This is an opportunity to learn what other member groups are doing across the state - with 3 to 5-minute 'reports from the field' on what our groups are doing! We'll talk about how we are going forward, together - to work for a more sustainable and just Wisconsin.
You'll hear from WNPJ about our work and vision, including a preview of a documentary film by filmmaker Nadja Nordstrom - updates on a new website, coming soon through the volunteer efforts of Vicki Berenson - and presentation of our new logo design, created by Megan Manor . There will be a chance to share more during the discussion time following the reports.
We already have John Peck of Family Farm Defenders on the program, talking about land use and Shahzad Hussain of Faith in Place reporting on work concerning data centers.
A special guest will be Zoltan Grossman, giving tribute to Al Gedicks, who has recently entered into hospice care. Al was our 2023 WNPJ Lifetime Achievement awardee - and he and Zoltan worked together for years keeping Wisconsin's environment safe from mining companies. We wish to honor his life and legacy in real time and how it is bound with the call to carry on, together. We're inviting a few individual members, too, who were there at the beginning - our 35 year members!
