“Wisconsin’s Mining Standoff”
a documentary film produced by 371 Productions

This half-hour investigative documentary produced by 371 Productions of Milwaukee for Al Jazeera’s series “Fault Lines” dives deep into the story of  the controversial proposal to dig what could be one of North America’s largest open pit mines—right here in Wisconsin.   It looks at how Gogebic Taconite’s iron mine would impact the environment and the livelihoods of people in northern Wisconsin, and  examines the process involved in the passage of the state’s new ferrous mining bill.
Discussion after the screening.
