Justice Reform Program with the Joyce Foundation

Deja Garner will speak about her work as the Director of Equity and Outreach at the Wisconsin Anti-Violence Effort (WAVE) Educational Fund, a grassroots gun violence prevention organization in Wisconsin with an emphasis on evidence-based solutions to gun violence for impacted communities.  

Her work involves developing and managing community projects that emphasize youth involvement, harm and violence reduction, criminal justice reform, and equity issues.  

She also specializes in equitable gun legislation and the racial implications of federal, state, and local gun policy.  She will share her perspective on police violence and police reform.

Tim Daly is Senior Program Officer in the Gun Violence Prevention & Justice Reform Program with the Joyce Foundation.  For more than 25 years, the Joyce Foundation has been committed to supporting research, education, and policy solutions to reduce gun violence and help make communities safer through a three-part strategy of focusing on gun violence prevention, justice system reform, and violence intervention.   A person wearing a suit and tie

Tim Daly will share the insights of the Joyce Foundation's research into the effects 

and causes of gun violence.  He will describe the damaging consequences of gun violence in terms its effects on neighborhoods, policing, and other not-so-obvious consequences.  He will also describe solutions and ways to implement those solutions.
