Madison's long-running Vigil for Peace will welcome newcomers and hail like-minded efforts statewide in a gathering Saturday at Pres House, 731 State St., at 4:30 p.m.

The local vigil's "Imagine Peace" program features a potluck dinner and music from Peter Leidy at 5 p.m. LeAnne Clausen, who has traveled widely with human rights and peace programs, will speak at 5:50 p.m. The Raging Grannies of Madison perform at 7 p.m., just before participants of the state's other 38 regular peace vigils check in with comments and stories.

The evening will close with a video, "Imagine Peace: Watchful Alertness," produced by the Wisconsin Network for Peace and Justice. More information is available at www.wnpj.org.

Members of the Madison group have gathered on Mondays at Martin Luther King Boulevard and Doty Street since 1981.
