Dear Editor: For those of you who are still undecided or willing to re-examine your decision, we hope you will consider voting for Barack Obama in Tuesday's presidential primary here.

We believe Barack Obama has a great potential for bringing America around from the past seven years, when democracy and all that our country used to stand for were undercut. We are sickened by these years of lies, falsehoods, unnecessary wars, and the incessant use of fear as a way to maintain power.

We support Barack Obama because of his ability to get people interested and involved, to arouse and give voice to their hopes and dreams, to recruit good people into his campaign - we believe the latter indicates his ability to recruit good people into his administration.

We also like his clear stands against the war in Iraq and on many of the other important issues facing our country and his ability to let us know how he sees things when he has not as yet formulated a specific position. He has the added advantage of not being beholden to some of the more conservative old guard groups within the Democratic Party and greater society.

He has the ability to renew people's understanding of and faith in democracy and to help them realize that we, the people, together and through our elected government can do things right and that we, the people, not the large corporations and moneyed interests, should rule our country.

We know both Democratic candidates are bright and able - either one can be a good president. We believe Obama will be an outstanding president and awaken the world to the realities of what our country should be and can be.
