Canvass Coordinator – Wisconsin Jobs Now – Multiple Locations

Canvass Coordinators needed for full-time work in Milwaukee, Madison and the Fox Valley.  Primary responsibilities will be directing a voter contact canvass for the November 2014 elections as part of a comprehensive campaign to win higher wages and political power to expand economic security in low income and working class communities.

Coordinators help grow the movement to win higher wages in the defining struggle of our time.

Wisconsin Jobs Now is building an innovative campaign to increase political power and economic security; integrating worker & community organizing, issue campaigning, and political action.  Canvass Coordinators will play a crucial role empowering our communities to exercise collective political power.

A Canvass Coordinator at Wisconsin Jobs Now is responsible for:
•    Executing a plan to win as part of a multi-faceted statewide campaign structure
•    Leading a team to build a base of empowered voters
•    Hiring, training and managing a team of canvassers, including spending time in the field
•    Managing turf, tracking and reporting outcomes, and driving operation to meet goals
•    Recruitment of volunteers from our voter base and working with partner organizations to mobilize activists through campaign structure
•    Participation in and support of periodic campaign events

•    Thorough attention to detail, resourcefulness and a talent for problem-solving, tenacity and determination in challenging situations, a high sense of urgency, and an ability to carry out a plan
•    Computer skills needed (word processing, spreadsheets/databases, internet/email)
•    Automobile and valid driver’s license required
