NATO, the U.S.-led military alliance behind the 11-year war in Afghanistan, will be holding its annual meeting in Chicago the week of May 13th-20th. Peace and justice activists in Chicago are planning a large, family-friendly march on May 20th from Grant Park to McCormick Place, where the summit is being held. Our special guest will be Parker J. Palmer, author of “Healing the Heart of Democracy: The Courage to Create a Politics Worthy of the Human Spirit.”
Palmer's book is directly resonant with many of the themes of communitarianism and civil discourse resonant with the WI Uprising.
We’ll also be joined in studio by the Rev. Phil Haslanger, of Fitchburg’s Memorial United Church of Christ, and the former managing editor of The Capital Times.
