REAP Food Group Development Coordinator

REAP Food Group, a non-profit organization located in Madison, Wisconsin, is seeking to hire a half-time Development Coordinator.   The Development Coordinator will take the lead in fundraising for REAP’s programs and general administrative functions through donor development, grant writing, donor appeals, earned income and special events.  A full position description, required qualifications, and application instructions are available at http://www.reapfoodgroup.org/images/stories/pdf/development_coordinator.pdf

Duties/Tasks:
• Recommend short- and long-range fundraising goals for adoption by the Executive Director
and Board.
• Develop a list of prospective private and corporate donors and develop a strategy for
requesting donations and/or sponsorships for specific purposes
• Coordinate with REAP’s Membership and Communications Coordinator in development of
communications materials for funders.
• Make donation approaches on own and coordinate visits with the Executive Director and
Board members.
• Coordinate activities to ensure strong relationships with grant funders, and private and
corporate donors.
• Conduct grant research, writing, and reporting in collaboration with the Executive Director
and program managers
• Work with REAP staff and volunteers to support and promote fundraising events
• Maintain complete and accurate records of all donation requests, donations received, and
communications with donors


Qualifications
• Minimum of two years experience in nonprofit fundraising, including donor relations, grant
writing and reporting
• Strong communication skills, including public speaking and writing
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access. Knowledge of InDesign a plus.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple demands
• Familiarity with the Madison philanthropic community and local business community
desired
• Working knowledge about the issues involved around local sustainable food systems.
