Sowing the seeds of peace and justice |
MUM Volunteer Session- Madison.
3/9 Tues 6:30 - 7:30 pm MUM Volunteer Session- Madison. 2300 S. Park St., Suite 2022 (upstairs, Villager Mall). If you've been thinking about volunteering your time and gifts to the community please join us to learn about volunteer opportunities with Madison-area Urban Ministry. Our Mentoring Connections program matches caring, trained adult mentors with children who have an incarcerated parent. The Circles of Support program matches small groups of volunteers to walk with someone newly released from prison as they rebuild their life. Returning Prisoner Simulations off community members a glimpse into what it's like to be newly released from prison - we rely on community volunteers to help us staff those events in the community, as well as the Re-entry Simulations we conduct in the prisons. There's no pressure, just information sharing, time to ask questions and light refreshments. All welcome. Contact: linda@emum.org
