The members of the Wisconsin National Guard 32nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team have reached roughly the halfway point of their nine-month deployment in Iraq, and the headquarters office in Baghdad has issued a summary of recent activities.

The summary covers the changing detainee operations mission that many of the 3,300 soldiers are handling, as well as progress of a team that is running the International Zone in Baghdad and working with Iraqis who are resuming control and ownership of land and property there.

A military police unit is ensuring that detainees being turned over to the Iraqis will be housed in detention facilities and prisons that meet international standards. Other units are providing security at several bases and working on projects that benefit Iraqi civilians, including a project involving school and water system construction.
