Funding devastation

I am still disturbed about our continued funding of war. Some lawmakers said they voted for war funding because it was for just one year. How many people can be killed in a year? How many people can be injured or maimed in a year? How many people will be psychologically harmed in a year? How many U.S. military people will be killed, injured or psychologically harmed in a year? How much hatred will be engendered in victims of war in a year? How badly will our planet be damaged in one year?
Funding the war for one more year is too long. Funding the war even one more day is too long. Maybe the greatest accomplishment is not securing an elusive victory over those we choose to call enemies. Maybe the greatest victory is winning peace and finding ways to walk together as sisters and brothers.
