NATO, the U.S.-led military alliance behind the 11-year war in Afghanistan, will be holding its annual meeting in Chicago the week of May 13th-20th. Peace and justice activists in Chicago are planning a large, family-friendly march on May 20th from Grant Park to McCormick Place, where the summit is being held. Please join us on the bus from Madison to Chicago for Sunday's march! We leave the UW-Madison Memorial Union at 8:30am and return by 8pm the same day. “We’re Looking for Work” Town Meeting, Friday, April 17th 5 to 9:15 PM

The Stoughton Alliance for Retired Americans and other groups have organized a town meeting for workers who have lost their jobs and live in the Stoughton, Oregon, McFarland, Evansville, Edgerton, Brooklyn, Cambridge, Cottage Grove, Madison and communities close by. The “We’re Looking for Work Town Meeting” will highlight community resources to support families.
This free town meeting begins with a meal and “night out” for families. The event is free and brings together workers and their families in a friendly environment to learn about health care resources, job search resources, and stretching your budget in hard times. After the meal, activities will be available for elementary school children as well as older youth.
