From Portland, Oregon to Madison to Maine to Belfast, peace protesters win in court

Their victories range from a dismissal of charges when a recruiter failed to show up in court in Madison to a jury's vote for a full acquittal on all charges in Maine, to a judges seeming acceptance of an argument that damaging equipment at a defense contractor's office is preventing the greater evil of civilian deaths. And, as the war in Iraq rages on, and those in power seem less and less interested in the opinions of their constituents, juries are becoming more friendly to protesters, delivering acquittals in multiple cases involving nonviolent protest actions at Congressional offices.
