Monona Can Take Stand On Iraq War

Dear Editor: I am proud that Mononans are trying to put a petition on the April ballot to bring the troops home now. This will give Monona citizens the chance to voice their opinion for or against the war. Some will say that this is not a local issue, but with the war costing over $1,962 per person nationwide so far, we don't have that money for local government, schools, housing, health care, city maintenance and services, and a whole list of other items paid by our taxes, let alone considering the human cost of deaths and injuries that have been inflicted on local servicemen and women and others.

Please sign the petition and let the local voice of Monona be heard to help end this war.
