Anti-BDS bill in WI Legislature: Public Hearing at 10 am on WED JAN 17 at the Capitol: Need attendees!

The anti-BDS bill pending in the WI legislature has been scheduled for a public hearing this Wednesday, Jan. 17 beginning at 10 am in Room 300 Northeast.

This is the bill that seeks to prohibit supporters of BDS from doing business with state or local governments.

(The bill has been amended to make it apply only to contracts worth $100,000 or more, and also it has been amended to replace "person" with "company" although it then goes on to define "company" extremely broadly so it doesn't really change very much as far as who would be affected. Sole proprietorships are included, along with "associations" and other non-commercial entities so it could include churches for example. It applies to local governments as well as the state.)

All members of the public are welcome to attend and testify, so if you would like to do that, I encourage you to do so. I believe that written statements can be submitted although I am not sure. I also encourage you to contact your own members of the legislature.

Please let me know if you plan to be there ... and if you need more information.
