Background: Join us at Cutler Park as we demonstrate together for progressive values. Use this time as a way to react to disturbing national and state news in a positive way. You can bring signs or simply stand with us.

Action Alert 2: Disability Community and State Budget - Various locations throughout the state
Background: Free training sessions with up-to-date information about the state budget and how it impacts the disability community, with advocacy tools to use when talking with state legislators. This training is appropriate for people with disabilities, family members, advocates and allies. Locations is accessible.

Action Alert 3: International Women’s Day Against Trump! - Madison
Background: Speakers include: Darletta Scruggs - Organizer with Chicago Socialist Alternative, Movement for Black Lives. Darletta previously organized her co-workers at Brinks Security for a one day strike to join the Fight for $15/hr. She's also known for a viral video watched by millions, of her taking down Fox News host Neil Cavuto on his own program, arguing for Free Higher Ed. Joined by Katie Quarles, who is on the Statewide Board of Directors for the Minnesota Nurses Association Katie is a long time socialist organizer with experience in Aachen, Germany as well as in Minneapolis. She is also a member of our National Committee for Socialist Alternative. Afterwards there will be a discussion on a socialist strategy to defeat Trump's sexism and the broader systemic gender violence and gender oppression fostered by capitalist politics and economics.

Action Alert 5: Food Sovereignty Symposium & Festival - Madison
Background: The symposium component of event is focusing on Indigenous and broader topics of food sovereignty that impact how communities and individuals control and manage their food systems, and the festival component is a celebration of Indigenous, local, and regional foods. Hosted by the Intertribal Agric. Council, UW Center for Integrated Agric. Systems, Wunk Sheek, UW Extension, UW Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies, and Family Farm Defenders among others.
