Call-in to Senator Kohl on May 12th - to urge him to co-sponsor Cluster Munitions Civilian Protection Act (S.594/H.R.1755).

In just under two weeks’ time, more than 100 governments, including all major NATO allies, will gather in Dublin, Ireland to negotiate a global treaty banning cluster bombs on May 19th.  This is the first major arms control/humanitarian law treaty in a decade.

The U.S. government won't be there, and it is working to weaken the treaty. While the U.S. government sends the wrong message to the rest of the world, you can help Congress send the right message by generating additional cosponsors for the Cluster Munitions Civilian Protection Act (S.594/H.R.1755).

We need to work quickly to show negotiators that millions of people in the U.S. stand with them. We’ve identified Senator Kohl as one of the senators most likely to sign on to this bill.

We are hoping you will activate your network to call Senator Kohl on Monday, May 12th—the day after Mother’s Day—to urge him to cosponsor the bill.

Below you will find text that you can modify to send to your e-mail list, including a link to a web site with Call-in Day instructions.  If you prefer, please copy and post any of that text on your own website.

Thanks for helping grow support in the U.S. for this important global initiative.

And don’t hesitate to be in touch if we can help you mobilize your network in coming days around this work. (Apologies for the short notice!)
