ABC Debate Was A Farce For Nation's Voters

Dear Editor: ABC and the two commentators representing it, Charles Gibson and George Stephanopoulos, must be totally embarrassed and ashamed for the trashing of the recent presidential debate, which should have been of historic importance in helping inform the voters of Pennsylvania and the nation.

Never have we seen such sophomoric, imbecilic and disrespectable interviewing or questioning of two bright people who were denied the ability to discuss important issues confronting this nation and the world - issues the next president must deal with. The issues that were denied a hearing at this event are those which affect the future of this nation and the world - issues which all voters must understand as they decide whom they want to be our next president.

Never has the nation been exposed to such "dumbing down" of the dialogue to fit what ABC and Gibson and Stephanopoulos seem to conceptualize as the level of thinking of the American people. This event was an insult to all the American people as well as to two very able presidential candidates.

This "presidential debate" will go down in history as how blind and judgmental the questioners/interviewers and media network can be. It will probably be used as an example of professional incompetence.
